Camps & Classes for Elementary and Middle School Students
Welcome to Squirrelly! We are excited to welcome your young artists and makers for a new collection of summer camps and after-school art classes. Unless otherwise indicated, all of the camps and classes listed below are geared for ages 6-12, with room to move on either end. During spring and summer 2021, all camps and classes will take place OUTSIDE on the patio at Wunderkind, at 3315 NE 55th Street. We'll continue to follow Covid safety protocols, including wearing masks, frequent hand-washing, and taking temperatures upon arrival. Click here for more details. And, contact us anytime with questions, suggestions, or scholarship requests at email@example.com.
Spring 2021 OUTDOOR ART Classes
Our days are getting longer and a tiny bit warmer, so Squirrelly is getting back out on the patio for some MORE OUTDOOR ART! Come join us! Check out the schedule and fun projects below. Stay tuned as we plan to add more spring classes, plus some Spring Break art experiences too.
It's so fun to see science and art overlap! We'll dive deep into two projects -- making paper (and painting on it, of course), and building a volcano diorama with clay, playdough, and natural materials, then making it erupt. Tactile, messy, exploratory, colorful, and explosive -- what could be better? $95
Choose two Tuesdays or two Wednesdays:
Session A: Tuesdays, March 16 & 23, 4:00-5:45pm
Session B: Wednesdays, March 17 & 24, 2:30-4:15pm
This is our favorite way to thank Moms and say "I love you" with art! Kids will dabble in jewelry making, painting, and other surprise crafts to create three very special one-of-a-kind Mother's Day gifts. Gifts will be wrapped and ready to give to Mom, or Grandma too! $105
Choose two Tuesdays or two Wednesdays:
Session A: Tuesdays, April 27 & May 4, 4:00-5:45pm
Session B: Wednesdays, April 28 & May 5, *FULL*
Summer 2021 OUTDOOR ART Camps
Join us in July and August for some rich and inspiring four-day summer camps outside on the Wunderkind patio. Choose from one of four unique half-day camps, or sign up for both morning and afternoon camps and bring a lunch! (No additional charge for the lunch hour. If you need an extended day and would like to start the morning at 8:30am, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for arrangements.)
July 13 - 16, Tuesday through Friday
The ocean is rich with life and color and so much inspiration for our budding artists. With this bountiful theme, we'll play with everything from Japanese fish printing to mural painting, gelatin printing, sculpture, and more. We'll even tie-dye a big towel for special trips to the beach! *FULL*
A Squirrelly favorite! Over the course of four days, we'll learn to design and carve small rubber blocks, learn to print with them on paper and fabric, and then take it to the next level! As experts, we'll take our time designing a large block and create a lovely collection of frameable prints, as well as a super-groovy t-shirt. If time allows, we'll also have some fun with making a printing block out of Jell-O and experimenting with layers of color. As the kids will say, "this is so satisfying!" *FULL*
July 19 - 22, Monday through Thursday

Dabble in woodworking, sculpture, and painting on a teeny-tiny scale! We'll start by building a 3-sided, 2-story house out of wood, nails, glue, and paint. Then, we'll create people and creatures from polymer clay, and furnish it with handmade furniture, even mini-paintings for the wall. Come with fun ideas, and go home with a super-deluxe furnished playhouse to provide fun for the rest of the summer! *FULL*

Since it's so much fun to wear the amazing things you make, we'll create a full collection. Projects will include jewelry making, embroidery, print-making, acrylic marbling, and hand-sewing, and kids will create everything from funky socks and t-shirts to earrings and a gorgeous silk scarf. Plenty of wearable art to share with mom and dad too! *FULL*
These camps and classes will be offered ALL OUTSIDE on the patio at Wunderkind, and we will follow strict safety protocols (including mask wearing, frequent hand-washing, and taking temperatures each day upon arrival. Click here for more details.) Note: While we will also strive for 6 foot physical distancing, kids will be moving from place to place, and they may not be seated and separate at all times. It's nearly impossible for them to not interact with each other. We WILL be outdoors and wearing masks at all times to protect against the spread of germs. Please email if you would like to talk about health and safety concerns, or about scholarships too. Thank you! Click here to register!
